Hi!  We are Courtney and James.

One thing we have always had in common is our love of food.  Cooking it, eating it, sharing it with others.

In January of this year, we decided to make some lifestyle changes (hello, #fitnessgoals2018!) and we figured the best place to start was by taking a good look at the foods we were eating and make some major changes to our daily diet.

Although we thought we ate pretty healthy at home, we knew that we were eating out too much, mostly due to our lack of planning. The first place we made a change was to set aside some time at the beginning of the week to plan our meals and our grocery shopping list.  Then we began to look at the nutritional information of the meals we were planning to eat.  We began to learn how to adapt our favourite recipes to fit a nutritionally balanced profile.

Being food lovers, we required that our meals be high on taste, but low on calories – and we wanted our recipes to feature mostly plant based, whole foods.

In the course of a month we had collectively lost a total of 33 lbs, mostly as a result of the changes we had made to our meals.  We were both amazed and totally pleased with our progress, and we loved the new healthier versions of food that we were eating so much that these changes have now become part of our lifestyle.

When we are not in the kitchen whipping up something fantastic and healthy to eat you can find us spending time with our daughter, Cayleigh and our super-pup Nova (who is usually chasing our cat Portia).
